LATE Temitope Johnson’s family has faulted the Nigerian police in Osun State of concealing the truth about his killing by an operative of the State Security Service aka DSS.
The family head, Segun Johnson, identified the alleged killer as Bamidele, accusing the state Police Command of failing to provide information on their investigation into the case, still withholding his son’s corpse and the killer has been released.
Temitope was reportedly shot by Bamidele on October 6, when DSS agents stormed the Owoderele-Ede area of the state and began to shoot sporadically at the victim’s home.
“The Commissioner of Police called the DPO that released the SSS operative and he said it was an order from top officials of the SSS,”
They are covering it up. The next time I wanted to see the police commissioner they said he was on leave. I’ve not heard anything from them since then,” Segun stated.
“I have done all I could but I don’t have the financial resources to push further, Nigerians should come to my aid,” he added.
The Osun State Police commissioner, Olokode, stated he could not disclose any information about the case as it involves another agency.
The DSS spokesperson, Peter Afunanya is yet to respond to the matter.■
