<SUNBIGHT> ~ Bakassi Peninsula ~ 2nd January, 2022.

SUSPECTED members of Biafra Nations League (BNL) have reportedly attacked a Nigerian Navy control post near the Bakassi Peninsula in Ikpa Nkanya, Akpabuyo local government area of Cross River State.
Reports said that as at 11am on Saturday, the militias were carrying Biafra insignia in front of their boats.
An eye witness in Edem Bassey who disclosed the incident said a Navy official was wounded.
National Leader of BnL, Princewill Chimezie Richards, declined to comment on the attack. He, however, said that the BnL leadership was investigating the report.
Richards also insisted that the January 23 ultimatum issued the federal government to release all Biafrans in detention, especially Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and Benjamin Onwuka, and to withdraw troops from the South East.
The group had earlier warned that it would destabilize international trade in the Gulf of Guinea if the ultimatum was not adhered to.■
