Pro-Biafran group, Biafra Nations League (BNL) are reporting that three of its members were arrested in the border town of Njatuka, Benue state which is close to Cameroon.

The combat pro-Biafra group operating from the Bakassi Peninsula had last month caused an outrage to Nigerian and Cameroonian governments as they dismounted the Cameroon national flags hoisted in the crude oil-rich island, captured Abana and exchanging gunfire with the Cameroonian armed security forces.

BNL Deputy National Leader, Ebuta Akor Takon, had in an official capacity acknowledged that BNL was notified that the Police said they have found ammunition with the members arrested on Wednesday, 22 September 2021.

Takon thereby demanded immediate arraignment in court those arrested members by the Nigerian police.

The group’s Leader, Princewill Chimezie Richard has maintained long silence to the media sparking rumours of a re-emergence of their militancy actions in the Gulf of Guinea.

The Benue state Police Command is yet to speak publicly over the matter as at the time of this publication.●
