LIONEL MESSI FUMES AT MANAGER AS HE IS SUBSTITUTED AGAINST LYON

■ Lionel Messi appeared unhappy as he was substituted while PSG were on a 1-1 draw against Lyon and needed a winning goal on Sunday.

The former Barcelona player made his debut for his new club, but is still yet to put his name on the French league score list as PSG got a last-minute goal with him on the bench.

During the first half, Messi saw his one-on-one saved by Lyon’s Anthony Lopes and also hit the post from a free kick.

Lucas Paqueta gave the visitors an unexpected lead at 54 minutes of the second half.

Few minutes later, Neymar was fouled in the box and was awarded a penalty which he finished confidently to bring the game level.

With 15 minutes before stoppage time, Pochettino opt to substitute Messi to bring on Achraf  Hakimi, the Argentine legend showed his displeasure with the decision as he walked past the manager, ignoring his approach.

Finally at added time, Mauro Icardi headed the winner from Mbappe’s cross to earn PSG the maximum points.●
