 IPOB SUSPENDS WEEKLY SIT-AT-HOME

■ Pro-Biafra group, IPOB, has suspended the sit-at-home directive which was slated to hold every Monday in protest for the release of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, who was abducted from Kenya and detained by Nigeria Secret Service Department (DSS) in Abuja.

The Pro-Biafra group said the directive to sit-at-home will only be triggered whatever day their leader will appear in court. The trial of the IPOB leader has been adjourned to 21 October, 2021 because the authorities failed to present him before the court, his counsel told the press.

Nnamdi Kanu is charged with ‘terrorism, treason, running an illegal company, publishing defamatory material  and illegal possession of firearms,” Nigeria’s Justice Minister Abubakar Malami said in a statement.

The change of directive was announced by Chika Edoziem, the group’s head of directorate via a broadcast streamed across social media platforms.
